We wouldve been able to over throw our oppressors.” In this movie the “slaves” were in modern day times at a park but wouldnt even speak up to free themselves because of fear. Sounds like the current climate in the black community. We ignore a lot of the things that make us powerful enough to “liberate” ourselves and as a result we are being oppressed explicitly I.e police brutality red lining systemic racism. Jordan peele does a great job at making us think about complex things in a simple way with his bad endings and plot twists.

At home, Antebellum" is worth seeing, not only because of what it has to say about America's past and present, but as a reminder of the often yawning gap between an intriguing idea and a fully realized film.
